Digital Nomad work options
This won't be a rundown of what you can do for work if you find yourself wanting to escape your home country and travel the world, but more a summary of what I in particular will be getting up to in order to fund my travels and accommodation.
For me it's quite simple and comprises two main (but related) areas of work/expertise. The first being crypto trading. When I was originally planning this trip, I was comparatively wealthy (I had a very healthy six-figures in easy-access assets) unfortunately things like Donald J. Trump sometimes happen, and I lost the bulk of what I was holding. Of course, as a degenerate gambler (jk, I'm a wisened trader, in reality) I soon opened new positions once the dust had settled. So basically I'm leveraged HODLing and trying not to shit myself too much 😄
Talking of which, the market has been an absolute bloodbath once again over the last few days, with positions frequently dipping into the red, making the time spent here so far somewhat stressful. Despite this, I'd much rather be here than back in the UK even if I'm not having the best of days, because back there, I'm pretty sure I'd be feeling far worse.
The other, and sometimes equally tedious (but definitely less stressful) avenue is to continue to develop the smart contract and frontend stack I have been working on for several years, as well as contributing to related projects founded by colleagues. This has been quite challenging too as the market on the whole has been in a sharp decline for some time.
I may open myself up to the possibility of making new partnerships, or even becoming an employee/contractor for a third party in the near future should this become necessary.
